Kanye Misbehaving at the MTV Video Music Awards

PLEASE BEAR WITH ME.
THE FIRST SET OF POSTS COVER SEEMINGLY "OLD NEWS" BUT I HAD SO MUCH TO SAY ABOUT IT THAT IT INSPIRED ME TO CREATE THIS BLOG. HENCE, MY THOUGHTS.

9/14/09:
Ok. I could very well be adding fuel to the self-ignited wildfire that is Kanye West, but I must comment on the hot mess that he is. What the hell was he thinking when he decided to ruin Taylor Swift's moment at the VMA's last night? Taylor is an incredibly talented young lady who is as cute as a button and sweet as pie. I'll tell you what happened though, he didn't make a decision. He had an impulse and ran with it. He wasn't thinking at all. He is a jerk and an a**hole. He has since apologized to Taylor and her fans, but my thought is that his apology is of no consequence. Of course, it was not my moment that he ruined.

Kanye (or whomever else) could blame it on the alcohol (he was photo'd on the carpet with an open bottle of Hennessy throwing back swigs along with his girl, Amber Rose) or even say that he needs to properly grieve for his mother (which he may very well need to do), but we all know that this is not Kanye's first outburst on live television—we remember the infamous, "Bush does not care about Black people" comment in the wake of Hurricane Katrina—and I'm confident that it will not be his last.

Somehow, Kanye (or whomever his "yes" people are) has convinced himself that he is worthy of being the new King of Pop. SMDH. Mr. West, let me be the first to inform you that you are not. Far from it, in fact. Not only are you not worthy as an artist, you are not worthy as a person. Michael Jackson, God rest his wonderful soul, had never and would never have made such a scene of arrogance and insult and displayed such disrespect toward a fellow artist. Not just that, but you can not proclaim YOURSELF the new king of anything unless, of course, there is an opening for a new King of Foolishness.

The true sadness is that Kanye is an incredibly talented young man who, I firmly believe, is very intelligent. I just think that his mouth and his impulsive behavior is going to land him in a world of trouble one day. On the other hand, much respect goes to Beyoncé for allowing Taylor to have her moment, sans the buffoonery. You are a class act, Beyoncé, and if there is anyone worthy of a royal title of sorts, it is you.

**As a side note, just as Wendy Williams speculated during the "Hot Topics" segment of her show today, I believe that a partial motivation was to disassociate herself from Kanye's rude comments. In any case, kudos to Bey.
